Homemade Tortilla Chips Recipe
Ingredients:
Freshly made corn tortillas
Oil for frying (neutral oil like vegetable or canola)
Salt (to taste)
Instructions:
Cool & Dry Tortillas
Let tortillas cool for at least 30 minutes (or use day-old). This helps reduce sogginess.
Cut
Stack tortillas and cut them into for sixths or eighths (like pie slices).
Fry
Heat 1–2 inches of oil in a Karaahi or Pateela to 350°F (medium-high heat).
Fry tortilla pieces in batches, flipping occasionally, until golden and crispy (about 1–2 minutes).
Remove with slotted spoon and drain on a wire rack above some paper towels.
Season
Immediately sprinkle with salt while hot.
