Bhai Sahib's Dib Drishtee with Dr. Basant Singh Jee
Dr. Basant Singh Jee had never actually seen Bhai Sahib but still loved him very deeply. He joined the Jatha after Bhai Sahib had been imprisoned. Having heard many stories about Bhai Sahib, he became his Deevaanaa (devoted admirer). In 1930, Dr. Sahib learned that Bhai Sahib had been transferred to Lahore Central Jail and was soon to be released. Unable to wait any longer, Dr. Basant Singh Jee deliberately committed an offense against the British by delivering a lecture opposing their rule. As a result, he was arrested and confined in Lahore Jail.
Dr. Jee’s happiness knew no bounds. As soon as he arrived at the jail, he asked where Bhai Sahib was. Someone pointed him out, and upon seeing him, Dr. Jee rushed forward and fell at Bhai Sahib’s charan. With great effort, Bhai Sahib lifted him up and, holding Dr. Jee’s face in both hands, immediately recognized him as a close companion from a previous birth.
This is an example of Dib Drishtee (divine vision).
Kaar Seva at Sri Darbar Sahib, 1923
Bhai Basant Singh, Rangley Sajjan
"In June 1923, Kaar Seva for Sri Darbar Sahib started when I was in Jail. A large number of Nirbaan Keertani Jatha members in hundreds volunteered for this Seva at Amritsar and held an Ardaas for my well-being. I am told by those who participated in the Seva, my dear Gurmukh Bhai Mal Singh jee and my wife Sri Mati Kartar Kaur in particular, that the Lyallpur Jatha also participated in large numbers. The Ardaas was performed by Gurmukh Veer, Bhai Atma Singh Jee from Moga [Different Bhai Atma Singh Jee from Bhai Atma Singh Jee Panjokhra Sahib]. During this, just with the mention of my name, this young Veer, Dr. Basant Singh Jee fell unconscious. He was in a Love-Lorn state. He was brought back to consciousness after the Ardaas. Ever since, his love for me got strengthened beyond measure. It was neither breakable nor forgettable, even for a moment. This loving Veer participated in all the Akhand Paath Smagaams to pray for my well-being and safe return from prison. He was always praying for our early meeting. All this is inscribed deeply in my heart, as yearnings of pure spiritual love."
