Bhai Soorat Singh Jee
Bhai Soorat Singh Jee was a puratan Singh of the Jatha. He was 13 years old when he met Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Jee.
Bhai Sahib used to call him "Pooran Jee." It is said that whenever Bhai Sahib met Pooran Jee, he would embrace Pooran Jee and recite this Salok:
ਪੂਰਨੁਕਬਹੁਨਡੋਲਤਾਪੂਰਾਕੀਆਪ੍ਰਭਆਪਿ॥ The perfect person never wavers; God Himself made him perfect.
ਦਿਨੁਦਿਨੁਚੜੈਸਵਾਇਆਨਾਨਕਹੋਤਨਘਾਟਿ॥੧੬॥ Day by day, he prospers; O Nanak, he shall not fail. ||16||
Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee - Ang 300
Pooran Jee had immense love for Bhai Sahib.
Even though he was still very young, he was very steadfast in spiritual discipline, and would never miss Amrit Vela because he had a firm belief that the night was not made for Gursikhs (Sikh devotees) to sleep, but rather Akaal Purakh (God) had made it for meditating on Naam (the Name of God).
While saying this, Pooran Jee would often quote this line:
ਕਹੈਨਾਨਕੁਸੋਤਤੁਪਾਏਜਿਸਨੋਅਨਦਿਨੁਹਰਿਲਿਵਲਾਗੈਜਾਗਤਰੈਣਿਵਿਹਾਣੀ॥੨੭॥
Says Nanak, they alone obtain the essence of reality, who night and day remain lovingly absorbed in the Lord; they pass the night of their life awake and aware. ||27||

In the year 1982, Pooran Jee's two young sons passed away in a motorcycle accident.
Even at that time, when the bodies of his sons were lying outside, he didn't miss Amrit Vela.
At exactly 12:30 AM, he completed Amrit Vela in Chardi Kalaa (high spirits).
Later, around the year 1985, Pooran Jee settled permanently near Sri Amritsar Sahib, close to Sri Darbar Sahib (the Golden Temple).
There, with great effort and with the cooperation of Bibi Harbans Kaur Jee, he started Amrit Vela in the rooms around the Parikrama (the marble pathway around Darbar Sahib), which continued for nearly 25 years.
Those unforgettable memories of those Amrit Vela gatherings are still etched deeply in the sangat's hearts.
The amrit-filled spiritual atmosphere that prevailed there cannot be written down in words.
Everyone would sit together, locked arm-in-arm, and chant Naam in one rhythm and tone.
Pooran Jee also participated in the service of bathing (cleaning) Sri Darbar Sahib.
One time, a few Singh brothers came from abroad to Sri Darbar Sahib, and requested:
“Pooran Jee, we also have a desire — to take a bucket and perform the seva (service) of bathing.”
At that time, Pooran Jee told them to look toward the bridge near the Darshani Deori (the main entrance).
When they looked there, they had visions of hundreds of Shaheed (martyred) Singhs, all carrying buckets, eager to perform the bathing service.
Pooran Jee used to say that the service at Sachkhand (the Realm of Truth) is a very great service.
This service is granted only through great fortune.
Bhai Ajeet Singh used to tell that one year during Amrit Vela, he sat and thought within his mind:
"If Pooran Jee truly has spiritual earning (kamai), then let him himself call me and give me the turn for reciting Paath (scripture reading)."
What happened next — without even being told, the spiritually awakened Pooran Jee signaled him and called him to take the turn for Paath.
ਨਵਨਿਧੀਅਠਾਰਹਸਿਧੀਪਿਛੈਲਗੀਆਫਿਰਹਿਜੋਹਰਿਹਿਰਦੈਸਦਾਵਸਾਇ॥
The nine treasures and the eighteen spiritual powers of the Siddhas follow him, who keeps the Lord enshrined in his heart.
Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee - Ang 649
According to this divine verse, the nine treasures and eighteen spiritual powers were always following behind Pooran Jee, and endless blessings of the Guru were upon him.
According to the Gurbani Pangti "ਗੁਝੜਾਲਧਮੁਲਾਲੁਮਥੈਹੀਪਰਗਟੁਥਿਆ॥" (He was revealed upon the forehead), the radiance of spiritual light always shone on his face.
Pooran Jee bestowed Naam Daan (the gift of Naam) from the house of the Satguru to countless thirsty souls who longed for Amrit, while serving as the Jathedar of the Panj Pyaare, he would travel to the corners of the country and organize numerous Amrit Sanchaars, Akhand Paath Sahibs, and Akhand Keertan Smaagams.
Especially every year, he used to take groups of devotees for Darshan (holy visits) of Sri Patna Sahib and Sri Hazoor Sahib.
After the passing of Jathedar Bhai Ram Singh Jee, Pooran Jee was appointed as the Jathedaar of the Akhand Keertani Jatha.
He served in this role for about 3 years, but then, suddenly, on December 21, 2008, upon receiving the call from the Divine Throne, he departed to Gurpuri.
